Mulberry (Morus bombycis) Contorted Mulberry

This tree is not contorted like Snakethorn or Contorted Filbert, it is more wavy, but growing wider than tall (20’10), it is a graceful tree.

Weeping mulberry is an attractive plant for a small garden as it has shiny dark green leaves, dense branching, and never gets taller than you want it too. These are trained to about 5′. zone 5

About Whitman Farms

Whitman Farms began in 1980 as an informal nut tree and small fruit adjunct to a large bareroot nursery next door in Salem Oregon. It was a one-woman show and mostly for fun. However, Lucile Whitman (pictured), the owner, got sidetracked; she became enamored of unusual ornamental trees and started planting any weird and wonderful woody plants she ran across, using root control bags, a new plant-friendly technology.
